As I embark on my final year as a junior cyclist, the road ahead is paved with challenges and opportunities alike. Balancing the demands of training and A levels is no easy feat, but with the support of my school, QE11, I’ve found a way to make it work. By carving out time during my free periods for training, I’ve managed to keep my cycling dreams alive even amidst the academic hustle and bustle.
Getting Back in the Saddle: The start of the season saw me diving back into the racing scene with gusto, tackling a couple of local road races to shake off the winter cobwebs. It’s amazing how the thrill of competition can reignite that fire within, fueling my passion for the sport I love.
Conquering Challenges: One of the defining moments of the season so far was my participation in the CiCle Classic—a gruelling test of endurance against a formidable field of professional women’s teams. Despite the daunting odds and unforgiving conditions, I pushed through to the finish line, emerging with a sense of pride and accomplishment that words can’t quite capture.
Dreams on the Horizon: Looking ahead, my sights are set on even loftier goals. I’m eager to explore guest ride opportunities in European races, recognising the scarcity of junior girls’ events and seizing every chance to test my mettle against top-tier competition. And, of course, I have my eye on the Women’s National Series, where I hope to build on last year’s podium finish.
