TIME, a most precious commodity

Sharon and I met by chance. I’d just come over to the Isle of Man and needed to get my pensions and my tax sorted. Since then, we’ve become very good friends. The enjoyable thing about Sharon is that she gives time to truly understand our needs. Time is a very precious commodity and one that lies at the heart of what Thornton does.

In fact, I wrote down this for Sharon the other day:
None of us know how long we’ve got, we’ve just got to get on with it. No point in rehearsing.

The lifestyle financial planning process helps to get you thinking. Thinking about how best to spend time and then how to use your financial resources to support what you want to do most. I’m an insurance broker and at my happiest on the phone talking to people matching their needs with a good result. I enjoy working just as hard as I did when I started in business 60 years ago.

But I enjoy it even better from the Isle of Man, it’s such a lovely place to be. We just need to encourage a few more interesting retailers to move to the island to keep my wife happy.
